DataBench was originally founded in 2018 and was focused on assessing the global wave of data privacy compliance and how the world’s vendor market was responding to a new global industry which initially focused on the global autonomous vehicle market. There is a long runway to work closely in this market so until then we have worked more broadly on the privacy compliance business.

It was clear that most businesses did not fully understand their data privacy and data security programs and applications. Businesses were unaware of how data moved through their organisation and were using programs that hindered their ability to gain control over their personal data.  To address the changing privacy landscape, many businesses were opting to implement manual solutions, requiring up to 6 extra staff to manage this workload. These manual solutions often fall behind on mandated timeframes and fail to meet legislation obligations.

Founder and Managing Partner David Christmas recognised the need for an automated data privacy and data security solution within the Australian and New Zealand privacy landscape.
