As a definition, Artificial Intelligence (AI) as we know this today can be viewed as a function that focuses on creating systems capable of performing tasks that would usually require human input or intelligence. So with consideration for AI and Human Behaviour, it seems there are many layers to this technology and the one that does generate a lot of interest and concern is the side that mimics human behaviour.
Well, is it or not?
When it displays capability like learning, reasoning, task completion, problem-solving, understanding multiple languages, and recognising various patterns we tend to get the most nervous and rightly so. There are endless news cycles, media and social posts from all sorts of people, some who are experts that make broad ranging statements claiming that AI will take over the world within x number of years etc… We’ve all seen these and is it true? In my view, no it is not.
I’m sure this will depend on who you talk to, or more so listen to.
Is there more to this?
Certainly a stream, or sub set of AI that is demanding more attention that others is the component that mimics us and our jobs and this would be the best place to focus your thoughts and concerns rather than just AI in general.
