Yesterday, The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) commended an investigation into the personal information handling practices of Medibank in relation to it’s notififiable data breach. 

To help organisations understand what this type of investigation might mean, it will focus on whether Medibank took reasonable steps to protect the personal information they held from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
